USA against the return of Aristide?

Sorry that I don't know much about politics in general, and Haitian politics in specific, but through the reading of some Web sites it seems to me that the american government is opposed to the return of Aristide in Haiti while apparently did not oppose the return of Duvalier...

I'm interested in understanding better, if that is true....

as some people say Aristide was acting in favor of the poor whereas some others say he stole 12 billion dollars from that country...If someone has the patience to shed some light to me, I would appreciate...I'm an outsider from Canada.
