Tiba, I sincerely thank You for the excellent information you shared on both Haitian and African-American contributions to the War for American Independence.

I AM NOT being sarcastic.

While I am well aware of most of the information contained therein, perhaps it was time to remind me. All men who contributed to the struggle should be recognized.

I found it interesting that it mentioned Great Bridge, Chesapeake, as well as Portsmouth.

I am very familiar with that area, as I grew up there.

We were never taught such things in our schools; after all seriously (don't take this wrong) why would a state like Virginia seek to aknowledge blacks of any nationality?

Virginians found the notion very threatening.

Look, Tiba: I am an OPEN-MINDED man. I just can't sit back while people asking for American help spend so much energy incessantly bashing my country, and making it look like America owes them everything.

I agree with Altieri on Belpolitik, who remarked that we should refocus and stop letting our emotions (especially our pride) get in the way of our ample reason.

I have read very thoughtful comments made by you, as well as others, on this blog and Belpolitik.

I believe that I have worthwhile thoughts to share also. Let us "Bury the Hatchet." Let's stay away from crazy generalizations and stick to the meat of the matter.

I feel like we could learn a lot from eachother.

Seriously.

Don't mistrustme; I am not the enemy.

I am just a white man who feels like the world needs to mount an effort ten-fold over the present one to save the resilient and proud people of Haiti.

With God as my witness, I swear to you that this is the truth.

Just Please, ask your brothers and sisters to stop bashing America...
