Wyclef Jean will declare his candidacy for president of Haiti.

The only question that I would like to ask is, how come the American people will be the first to know about his intention running for president in Haiti before the Haitian people?

Is he going to make his intention running for president known or is he going to really "Declare" his candidacy for president of Haiti.

There is a big difference between the 2, and I would like to know which one he is doing.

But other than that I think he should run because Haiti needs new and young blood and ideas to govern and if elected, Wyclef would be the youngest president of Haiti.

I hope he would surround himself with young blood in his cabinet as well.

The entire Haitian government is made up with a bunch of old sinior citizens struggling with alzhimest disease.

They all need to retire and move to a nursing home where they belong.

La star du hip-hop d'origine haïtienne Wyclef Jean va annoncer sa candidature à l'élection présidentielle en Haïti sur CNN jeudi, a indiqué la chaîne américaine mardi.

Le chanteur doit faire l'annonce dans l'émission "Larry King Live" qui sera diffusée jeudi, a ajouté CNN citant une source proche de l'artiste.

La Constitution haïtienne interdit à l'actuel président René Préval de briguer un nouveau mandat à la tête du pays le plus pauvre des Amériques, ravagé par le séisme du 12 janvier.

L'élection doit avoir lieu le 28 novembre.

Le mandat de M. Préval prend fin en février 2011, mais plusieurs partis haïtiens accusent le chef de l'Etat de vouloir se maintenir en poste.

Wyclef Jean, qui vit à New York, est le fondateur de l'association "Yélé Haïti" et a joué un rôle de premier plan dans l'aide aux sinistrés du séisme qui a tué 250.000 personnes et jeté 1,5 million de personnes à la rue.

Des accusations de malversations financières, lancées au moment des opérations de secours aux sinistrés du séisme, ont toutefois terni l'image de "Yélé Haïti".
