Before you post a statement i suggest you take a little time to think and then post a comment that is rational and intelligent.
Why should we focus our energy on building an army to deal with uncertain future possibilities when we have other greater needs?
The logical and rational thing to do now is to find a way to provide internal security for the country.
We have a police force that is unable to protect the population from gangs, theives, and criminals.
And you think the best thing to do is to create army to defend us against the most powerful army in the world.
A country with which we are at peace.
We can't even deal with the low-life criminals that creating havoc in the country.
If ever there was a conflict between Haiti and the US. The US could easily destroy Haiti without having any of its soldiers setting foot on Haitian soil. That is the reality my friend.
Haiti is a very poor country it's futile to waste limited resources on building an army with the intention of defending ourselves against a nation like the US. We need schools, hospitals, roads, public housings and the likes.
these should be our priorities.
Now i'm not saying we shouldn't have an army down the road all i'm saying is that for now we need to strengthen the police force, give them better training and equipments to deal with the threats we face internally.
Then we can worry about external threats.
Furthermore you can't require 16 year olds to enlist in te army. It's illegal.
Our people have been making unwise decisions for a long time and we have wasting our resources in futile matters.
This needs to stop.
