Mr. Lucas,

This is the first "quality" post I have seen you make on this blog. Usually you just rant and rant without saying much. I am not going to address your "poll" because I don't know where it came from. Maybe I missed where you mentioned its provenance.

I agree with you that there must national elections before the end of the year. If most people understood the importance of having a functioning legislative body at this juncture in Haiti, they would all be for going to the poll to elect their representatives as well as a new president.

The Legislature, theoretically, can make sure that the president does not award the bulk of the upcoming contracts to his friends as it is customary in our country.

Our deputies and senators will have to review all potential contracts dealing with the exploitation of our natural resources.

By having elections and by choosing our leaders wisely, we can make sure that our suffering brothers and sisters have a better future tomorrow.

If we are such fools to believe that we shouldn't have elections, then we stand for the status quo.

Mr. Lucas, it seems that you think that Haiti's problems started 20-25 years ago. By the way, you are not the only one who think that way. I'll forgive you. I have got news for you. Technically, our problems started on January 2, 1804. Pick any time period between then and now, you'll see that the country has always had issues.

Haiti, that is the "sovereign" one, has always been dirt poor with a web of political, economic, social, and class issues.

More than any other place on earth.

Mr. Lucas, to tell you the truth, you are not electable for any political office in Haiti.

Nonetheless, you can help Haiti.

it appears that you have quite a list of important and impressive friends.

With them, us Haitians in Haiti and abroad, and YOU in change, let us create a fund to built a university that can accommodate 15,000 students in the Artibonite or Central department of Haiti.

This is a challenge to you. Start making phone calls tomorrow.

On my end, I will sure that we have qualified professors to teach those individuals.

Sir, you have a great day.
