First, don't confuse the results of an opinion poll with my personal opinions.

Clearly you haven't read anything I've written or said during interviews because there is not one post on my blog, written or spoken comment that you can point to where I have even remotely insinuated our incompetent President should leave office early.

See this link to find out what I have actually proposed ( solutionshaiti.blogspot.com/2010/04/ha... ).

In this awful situation, the last thing Haiti needs is to compound the problem with political instability that would surely result from forced elections.

At the same time, the forcing of elections or even if his term plays out for seven months -- we need to make plans to address transition.

Almost 45% of people lost their identification/voter registration and the electoral council has been destroyed.

Second, I have called for nothing but change in Haiti -- the current and previous Administrations along with their cronies in the Groupe de Bourdon have targeted me incessantly -- even with threats to my personal safety when I was in-country.

I worked for more than 15 years to try to bring a real, meaningful democracy to the people of Haiti and was targeted and undermined for every success I had. I know the Haitian people are not ignorant, are capable of selecting their leaders, and will prosper if given the chance in a rule of law based society.

The people that are sinking our country and keeping the Haitian people in misery are people who have been or are currently in the government and their associates in the private sector.

You just look at the Diaspora in the US and around the world -- they have done very well for themselves when they have left Haiti and are prominent members of their community.

It is not a problem of the Haitian people for sure -- it is a problem of a selfish, corrupt group of cronies in power for the past 20 years that have had a stranglehold on our country.

Third, you'll also see from my writings that I have been critical of the international community's actions in Haiti.

Their track record over the past 20 years is in lock step with our leadership -- and they have absolutely no results to show for their efforts (see solutionshaiti.blogspot.com/2007/01/in... ).

Finally, people that have been stealing from our country are not just the mulatto elite.

They are from all social backgrounds and colors.

I was raised to not judge people based on color or social status -- and that is certainly applicable to this situation in Haiti: corruption has no color.

I well know and understand your frustration with this current situation, but get your facts straight and then we can have a real debate.
