Ayiti is Not a Latin Country!
Creole is in parts derived from Latin languages a mix of French, Spanish, ( Carib/Indian) and now from the last 30 years of Ayitian migration abroad English has been a strong addition to the mix.The word Creole means mix. The word Creole really comes from a dish, a mix spicy dish. In relation to the language Creole, it simply means mix.
No Ayiti is not a Latin Country.
Ayiti is an Independent Country.
For Example, French from France or from Quebec are languages derived from Latin as-well and they are not, Latin Countries, either.
I had to learn and study the origins of our Creole Language, as I am a Superior Court Interpreter for the French language and for the Creole language, this for the last 18 yrs. Hope this is helpful to you.
