Generators in Port au Prince

< Previous | Home | Next >

I have been trying for a week to get through to the American relief afforts with no luck. Here is one more try. On the Delmas Route in Port au Prince is a factory owned by the Oswald Brant family.

It is across the street from a small airstrip.

You know the place most likely.

Inside the factory compound are two very large generators that powered the Filature until 1989. They may still be in good shape.

I lived in the compound at one time when my father in law Albert Bronnimann built the factories in the area. Is it possiblt that the factory generators are still there?

The satellite photos show that the buildings did not fall in the first earthquake.

This could power the town if they could be brought back online.
