It could be a true statement that the U.S. set Haiti up for failure.

It has been there policy for many years to fight only small third world type countries as is evidenced by the defeated foreign policies in Vietnam, being kicked out of Iran forever, last observed fleeing Lebanon in the night, wars in Iraq, Afghanistan/Pakistan & soon Yemen, etc. and when Russian invaded the U.S. "ally" country of Georgia the U.S. govenment ran the other way rather than fight Russia a country its own size. Picking on small countries has become a trade mark of the U.S. and they may have had something to do with causing Baby Doc to flee Haiti?
