I am not sure the point(s) you are trying to make. I have a family tree prepared by a member of my family concerning my grandfather (on my fathers side of family) and he came to U.S. (legally) back in early 1890s from Syria so I am part Arab and have color in me and then my Arab grandfather (on my fathers side of family and I mention him because I still carry his name) married an American woman as did my father so I don't look like an Arab or a black man but have color in my ancestry and hertiage.

I was born in U.S. but lived and worked in Haiti for a period of time and am concerned not only about Haiti and the situation there (so was Bill Clinton who was there just a couple weeks ago showing American businessmen around interested to establish factories there and he isn't Haitian or black at all!) and I am interested in plans to make the situation better in Haiti.

At the same time I know what its like in Haiti as I read about it from Haitians at this site who have just returned from there and they speak of crime and kidnappings, etc.as is also covered in the news with 70+% unemployement and I am also aware many Haitians in Miami are not legal so I have simply posted a notice to them that it is in their own best interest not to wait around until a policeman stops them for something (anything!) and descovers their papers are not in order or they have a bogus social security card, etc. then they will be turned over to immigration which will send them back directly into the mess in Haiti.

What I have suggested is that they plan now to make a move to Abaco in the Bahamas where they will find work and will not have to worry about deportation.

Speaking of hunger, etc. the situation is really not that much better in the U.S. than Haiti except here there are aid organizations but they too are going bankrupt as their funds run out and since rich people are also effected by the demise of the U.S. economy they are not able to donate as in the past so you have a bad situation in the U.S. with many Americans taking out their anger on recent immigrants which implies Haitians and Mexicans.

Already many Mexicans are returning to Mexico because its better for them there than the U.S. and its same for immigrants from India going bankrupt in U.S.and because of economic demise they are returning to India but for Haitians returning to Haiti is not a good idea but going to Abaco island in the Bahamas where there are a lot of Haitians already is a good idea because there are jobs and they are not likely to be deported.

The U.S. coast guard is stepping up patrols to prevent Haitians from sneaking into the U.S. so they get caught and sent back but they can get into Abaco island in the Bahamas without any problems.

The decisions (and the risks) are up to Haitians.
