I don't like the idea of putting my name out on the internet because it invites attempted I.D. theft (not much use in my case as my credit is frozen) but I lived and workded in Haiti and was pilot for Air Haiti owned and run by his former father-in-law who, along with his daughter (Baby Docs ex-wife), was the main source of his problems and I feel sorry for the man that he ended up being duped by them. If you are a relative then you should know his Mother was against the marriage and, by the way, what ever happened to the U-tube Video or whatever it was of their wedding that used to be up here?
I wanted to send that to someone.
I would like to give him some advice regards potential influence with the people of Haiti because another young man has made posts here commenting on how things were better under Baby Doc because according to him and I can it was true when I was there from 1982 until 1985 that there was electric 24/7 and there wasn't all this violence and murders, etc. we know about today.
I could walk any street day or night in Haiti without fear and I am a white man (actually I am part Arab but only about 1/8th Arab but still have an Arab last name I got it from my grandfather (on fathers side of family) who came to this country from Syria in early 1890s & married an American woman as did my father but to look at me with fair skin and green eyes you would never guess I am have some color from my past hidden in me!).
I would like to play a role in making things better for Haiti and have my own ideas how that can be accomplished.
I never supported the things my boss Ernest Bennett was doing once I found out what he was involved in and actually left Haiti out of disgust over the situation and once I was back in U.S. visited the offices of the opposition and drew them a map of Ernest Bennetts car (BMW) dealership location.
He like to go to Panama and once told me "The best Banks in the world are in Panama so for those searching for his money they could beging there! He actually sold more Ladas' than BMWs. A Lada is like a Fiat but is made in Russia.
How he got that contract with them I don't know. He furnished me with a new Lada and the door handles come off! I stayed in that hotel in the little town up on the hill overlooking Port-a-Prince and once I was in the elevator with the owner of the hotel and he said to me "This is the only elevator in Haiti"!
