I am not Haitian but was in the Marines deployed to Haiti during that Aristide bullshit.

I have since then visited the country several times and just recently ended a 3.5 year friendship with a guy that was my best friend.The reason Haitians in Haiti would not believe you if you told them not to come to the US is because of the tremendous lying that goes on when Haitians living in America go back home. They try and make themselves look as if they have money and honor when they really dont have shit here in the US. If their relatives in Haiti that look up to them could really see what was going on with them here in America, they themselves would not want to come because they would see the truth (hard work)rather than people who arent making it in America but pretending when they go and visit their relatives.
