Tiba, you know I really don't mind Haitians speaking a foreign language, I guess what i don't like is when I meet a person who doesn't really speak good English and as they're talking to me in english I can sense they're struggling.

Usually when I sense it, I switch to creole basically it's my polite way of saying let's carry the conversation in Creole most of them usually continue to struggle speaking English anyway, it's as if they're trying to impress me. Half of the time I don't understand what they're saying.

As far as school in Haiti is concerned I think the best thing is to switch to a bilingual system.

It shouldn't be one or the other.

That Canadian girl I was talking about in my previous post she went to a school where they start teaching students English in the first grade.

Basically half of the program of that school was in French the other half was in English.

When she speaks English she sounds like any normal American and when she speaks French she sounds French and she's comfortable writing and reading both languages.

But she's told me that the school uses native English speakers to teach the students English and they also use what they call a full immersion program.

Haiti can do the same thing, half of the program can be in Creole and the other half can be in French.

They should hire native french speakers to teach French.

That way by the time a student leaves the Haitian school system he's able to speak both languages fluently.

That Canadian girl proved to me that your parents don't have to speak a language for you to speak it well.

I love both Creole and French and I think the government can find a way to insure that students can speak both language well.

The city where I live now, they have a great private Academy it goes from 1 to 12 grade.

The school has a great language program.

Every student has to learn a second language: either French, Spanish or German.

Once the student and parent select the second language the academic program for that student will be in 50% english and 50% in whatever the second language is. They use native speakers of these foreign languages to teach the students.

It works the kids are truly bilingual.

That's the kind of school I'll probably send my kids to.

On the music, i believe you, but I've listened to a couple of songs by Daan Junior his songs usually last about 4 minutes.

They're about love. Hey Tiba, i know Pompano Beach like the back of my hand, i haven't been to Pompano in years though.

Click on this link it's a simple of Daan Junior.

Let me know what you think.
