Hello Angie, I read your comment and I agree that i have to read and listen to people.
My grandparents are still alive and they are with us here in the US. I do listen to them specially my grandmother.
She's always telling me about her life stories while other people may not want to listen I do take the time to listen to her. Sometimes I'm the one asking questions.
She has said that things were better back in the days.
But the fact is Duvalier was a dictator and there was no political freedom.
Whether Duvalier was a good leader or not, that's not the issue here. Personally I think he was not a good leader.
I think we need to stop looking back let's just focus on the present and the future.
Our focus should be on creating a lasting, working democracy in Haiti.
A society where people's right are respected, where there's security, good infrastructure, etc...
We can do all that without a dictator.
You also said "how do you want to transform haiti with a population that do not know how to read and write." Angie, I'm a 22 year old guy, if i talk the way i do it's because i read too much, maybe my dad is right, maybe I'm a tormented soul. I'm not a political leader or a presidential candidate.
But I would love to get involved in improving the school system in Haiti someday.
