Thomas, a human being you have every right to feel the way you do about the dual citizenship issue but I think you're wrong.
Mark's answer to your post was brilliant, naturalized citizens are not the ones who want to have it both way it's you. Basically you want the diaspora to send money and help in any kind of way but you don't want them to have any kind of rights.
Using words like sovereignty, patriotism are delusional.
Haiti is not a sovereign state it maybe on paper but in reality it is not. A sovereign country is able to provide its own security, take care of its own citizens, etc...
Like Mark said sometimes people become a US citizen to quicken a petition process for a family member.
Okay you may choose not recognize all the contributions the diaspora has made to Haiti but I want you to ask yourself this question.
Who is in charge of Haiti?
Is it Haitians or the international community be honest with yourself?
The way I see it Haiti is on life support, had it not been for the diaspora providing help for their families that country would be in worst shape.
I'm not saying we should violate the current constitution but we should make the proper corrections to solve the issues we face as a nation.
Thomas whether you like it or not the white man is controlling the country here you are spending all your time fighting your brothers and sisters while you turn a blind eye to the real enemy.
Again I ask yourself who do you think really governs Haiti the Haitian people or the international community?
