My beloved,
As much as I would like to have a woman, or a grimo/grimelle, or a white president in Haiti, but with all honesty this woman just doesn't cut it.
I don't know much about her personally but from the little I heard, she is very well educated and she has been involved in Haitian politics for a longtime as well.
Now, here's the biggie about her, in my opinion, SHE IS TOO OLD.
Secondly, she has no back bone to be a leader because she relies too much on her husband (Manigat) to tell her what to do. She is really controled by her husband, which means if she become president, her husband (Manigat) would be the one really running the country without a doubt.
In the elections of 2006, I heard she was running for a parliament seat and was about to win but dropped out of the race because her husband told her so. This is not the kind of person you would want as president.
This is the difference between Bonjo, Jean-Robert and many others and you, Zac, and I that seems to keep getting us in trouble.
You, Zac, and I don't support a candidate based on our emotion and our liking and love for the candidate, but rather on the merit, the competence, the character, and the wisdom projected by the candidate.
While I'm sure Mrs. Manigat is a good person, a true Haitian patriot, a well educated lady, but I just don't think she meets the criteria to be a leader, to be president.
