Did you know?

On July 27th 1915, three thousand United States Marines, led by Admiral William B. Caperton, entered Port-au-Prince Haiti the night that a Haitian mob entered the French embassy, took president Jean Vilbrun Guillaume Sam, killed him, and dismembered his body.

That was the beginning of the 19 year U.S. occupation of Haiti from 1915 to 1934
