It is not necessary to destroy one thing to build another.

Trying to buildup Dessaline by tearing down Toussaint is not wise, and it only helps those foreigners who want to completely erase Haiti's glorious history.

Furthermore, were it not for Toussaint, who united the slaves into one fighting force, Dessaline would not have had an army to launch his battles after Toussaint was arrested.

I agree with you that the white American always promotes the gentler Negro.

However, do not play right into their hands by destroying one great man to promote another.
