My Beloved Linda,
Where have you been?
I started calling all the hospital, the police stations, except 911 because I could not remember the number, to check on you. Your disappearence almost gave me a heart attack don't you ever do that again, you hear!
Where was I?
Oh, yeah, talking about Toussaint Louverture.
Linda, as usual, I maybe used some strong words to describe the man. However, my description of Toussaint is only within the scope of the "abolition of slavery", which led to our freedom by giving independence to our country, Haiti, and nothing else.
Like I already mentioned in my response to Zac, if Dessalines and the other ones had adopted Toussaint's non-violence strategies maybe we, Haitians, would have still been in slavery, today.
As you, Zac, I, and everybody know, great portion of our history is written and published by foreigners, and therefore, they have the power and the influence to dictate Haitians who they should consider has their heroes, who they should stay away from, and as we, Haitians, are still trapped in the mental slavery, we are prone to believe and therefore obey whatever the master tell us.
Case in point, has anyone ever read and listening to foreigners speak about Haitian history a give any praise to Dessalines, Boisrond Tonerre, Capois-La-Mort, etc...
etc...?
Everytime these people talk about Haitian history, the conversation ivolves around one person and one person only, Toussaint Louverture.
And why is that?
Because white people have great pleasure to inflect pain, griefs, and mahem on black people, but have tremendous disdain, hatred, no respect etc..
when it becomes the turn of black people to inflect pain on them. They kill black people all they want to. They use black people target shooting practices, so one and so forth, black people cannot do that.
They love Toussaint Louverture because he was using a non-violence strategy to end slavery while Dessalines, Boisrond Tonerre, Capois-La-Mort, and other had chosen violence which led to the bloodiest war in the history of mankind.
As of today, there are a lot of Haitians who dislike Dessalines for ending slavery.
In fact, theese Haitians blame all the current problems of Haiti on Dessalines.
And these people feel that way because that's what the master dictate them to feel
