Hi 509queen; welcome to the blog. We have lots of different people here; some are nice, some are supper smart, some are nice and smart, others are smart but not so nice, some are dawn-right nasty, and some are just completely nuts. I am all of the above...

As for Haiti, don't be mislead by the new hype. Haiti was once a very respected country, not too wealthy, but not too shabby either.

We had some of the best vacation spots in the Caribbean, our streets were clean, we had running water and electricity, and we had 100% security.

So don't believe the myths.

Haiti has only been in the condition that it is today since the incompetent Aristide and Preval governments took office.

As late as the 1980s, we Haitians could leave our doors open all day and in most neighborhoods all night.

We could walk the street anytime day or night.

I actually remember having a fight with my friends in Petion Ville, leaving the nightclub where we were and walking home to Paco at 3am--and nothing happened to me, nor did I ever feel that anything would.

So don't believe the hype. There was a time it was us Haitians who looked at other people from the top of our noses.

Aristide and Preval destroyed all that--neither of them have any pride or dignity, that is why they did not protect the nation's dignity--that and the fact that they are both really intellectually challenged individuals.

As for the delegation of Clinton to our country, it's an interesting development.

I believe that he (Clinton) thinks of Haiti as unfinished business.

If you study his history, you will see that he takes any failure as something very personal.

I believe that he asked for this position.

I believe that he will do his best to accomplish something grand (Clintonesque) for Haiti.

How will that help Haiti overall remains to be seen. What is sad about Clinton in Haiti is not Clinton himself, it is that Haiti, which was once the land of proud Negroes, has now become a stereotype, with the white man being the black people's savior.

I guess the white world finally got what they wanted--Haiti on its knee. VERY VERY SAD.
