Noustous is engaging in mischaracterization of Toussaint.

All Haitian leaders after gaining notoriety ended up owing plantations - christophe, dessalines, toussaint etc...but that does not make them slave owners.

Slavery is first of all a state of mind. Slave owners are those white people who not only believe in slavery but also institute it for their own selfish interests.

Toussaint did not institute slavery nor that he believed in it. Read the 1801 constitution.
