Who is this Montresor guy I'd like to know more about him and his plans?
Personally I don't think any president regardless of good intentions would be very effective unless he has a majority in both chambers of parliament to support him.
It seems like everybody thinks the president alone can bring change but he needs a parliament who's going to work with him. A lot of Haitian politicians are too narrow-minded all they see is the presidency, they forget that parliament is just as important.
There are a lot of things that could get done but the parliament get in the way most of the time.
A lot these Deputies and senators are not educated.
They don't know what their role as lawmakers should be. I don't understand why we are so casual about who runs as a senator and a deputy.
Those posts are extremely important.
They can make or break a president.
My advice is if anybody wants to run for president that person should first build a strong political party with sensible views and ideologies.
And then that party shoud choose educated and competent candidates in each department to run for the two chambers of parliament.
All these presidential candidates think they can solve Haiti's problems by themselves and that's not true. It doesn't work like that. If a presidential candidate doesn't realize the importance of parliament then he doesn't understand government.
If he doesn't understand government then he's not fit to lead.
