This 18th of May is not a day to celebrate.

Please refrain from organizing festivities.

This attitude will help us reflect on what Haiti has become.

18 Mai est un symbole de souverainnete et de fierte en tant que premier peuple noir et independent.

Haitian flag day has absolutely no meaning this year.

The general inclination is to treat the above words as those from from a traitor, from someone who has no love for Haiti.

If you really love your country, Haiti, you must realize that the conditions that had brought us the heightened pride are not currently met.

Economic and political sovereignty and pride are currently in a state of shame.

What are we currently proud of?

what are we celebrating?

We are occupied tacitly and explicitly.

Let's reflect on the role the current generation, my generation needs to play to bring the true meaning of 18 Mai back to Haiti.

Let's bring back the Haitian nationalist spirit

Let's not celebrate a meaningless event
