While you made some very good points, you have however presented a flawed defending argument on the state of Haiti as a country.

You are not the only one nor the first person to make such misleading arguments.

These type of argument proves how much many of us don't really understand the contrast between government and citizens (the people).

For example, you said "First the people must take their responsibility, they need to clean after themselves not wait on the government to do it. Place garbage in its rightful place, stop using anywhere as toilet, stop having so much godammed children, stop taking part in illegal activities."

Assuming you live in US, after all the years you've been living in US, can you please tell us when was the last time you cleaned up the street you live on in the US?

When was the last time you had place a dumpster at the end of the street you live on so everybody can put their garbage and not throwing it on the street?

I would say without a doubt that you have never done such thing not once since you've been in US. And why not?

Because the government does it for you.

Cleaning up the streets and collecting garbage remain the job of the government (City Hall) through the mayor.

City Hall hires people and provides them with equipments needed to do the job. City Hall place dumpsters in designated locations for residents to put their garbage.

The garbage truck comes to pick-up garbage in my area every Monday at 6 AM, right on the dot.

You said "Residents and business persons can do their part to clean up the country, if everyone did their part the load would be easier."

Are you serious?

The last time you were in Haiti how much of that did you do?

Once again, it is not the job of residents to clean up the country.

It is however the responsibility of the residents to "KEEP" the street and the country clean after the government put in place a sanitary system supported by a set of laws, rules and regulations followed by punishment to violators.

You said "I am sure that most of us think that Preval is not capable of doing a good job but if we were given the position would we be able to do it?

It is hard work to run a country especially one where the people do not want a leader."

You said "Most of us don't think that Preval cannot do a good job."

You are correct, MOST of us KNOW for a fact that Preval cannot achieve the simplest task in Haiti.

A cave man can do a much better work than Preval can, and that is a fact.

You asked that "We need to get our mind from the slave mentality and take care of ourselves, our kids, our communities and our countries."

I say "Amen e Insiswatil" to that. We need to step away from the master and claim our own identity and become a proud people again with dignity and integrity.

You claimed that "We do not want to pay taxes, we smuggle guns and drugs in and out of the country, we do not want to register our property and most of all we do not want to invest in our own country but want others to do it. It's time that we wake up stop putting our hands out for handouts and do what we do best."

Very interesting observation, but you keep failing to realize that collecting taxes, stop guns smuggling, property registering, etc...

all that is the responsibility of the government to do. Citizens/residents do not collect taxes, cannot stop guns smuggling, and cannot refuse to register their properties if Haiti was a country of law and order.

Haitians refuse to invest in Haiti because business cannot be conducted without a modern sound telecommunication, without roads to move products from point A to point Z, It requires electricity 24/7 to run the equipments/machines, there must be drinking water for workers to drink while on the job, etc....

It is the job, the duty, and the responsibility of the government to provide these basics infrastructures in order to attract investment.

To think and believe these are the job of Haitians citizens to carry on these tasks shows the ignorance, the naivety, and the lack of understanding of the responsibility of governments.

I do know and understand that it is not the government's responsibility to pay my rent for me, to clean up my own house, and to cook me some rice and beans, BUT it is the job and responsibility of the government to create jobs and opportunities for me and for all in order for everyone to be self-sufficient.
