Tiba - I am sorry to hear my fellow countrymen were so unwilling to listen & learn.

I am trying to avoid that. I am not stuck on breadfruit & will immediately drop the idea if our friends are not interested in it. The fact that it is currently being grown, apparently successfully, nearby, is encouraging.

I have done some study of breadfruit, and the preliminary information I have indicates that it bears fruit in 3 to 5 years.

If we find something better, we will certainly go in a different direction.

And, this is not to say that we will only discuss breadfruit w/ our friends.

There is also information about gardens, goats and several other crops which we will ask our friends if they feel they are worth pursuing.

I do not know how familiar you are w/ the area, but if you have suggestions we could look at, I will be happy to check them out. I guess what I am hesitant to do is to give up & go away.
