Dear President Préval,

I am gravely concerned about the safety of the journalist Joseph Guyler Delva.

So I ask you kindly to take immediate action, in ac-cordance with his own wishes, to ensure his safety.

Please serve for a thorough and impartial investigation into the death threats received by Joseph Guyler Delva, with those responsible brought to justice.

I am seriously concerned that Joseph Guyler Delva has been sentenced to prison terms solely for exercising his right to freedom of expression.

Please make sure that all proceedings will be con-ducted in strict accordance with international fair trial standards.
