I made the original comment about the class system, because someone was boasting about being a university student on this site. He practically said he was in a better class because of his education.
I wanted to let him know that his way of thinking was superficial but i don't think he understood my message.
Our country is infested with people who are arrogant, selfish and greedy I believe they are partly responsible for Haiti being where it is today. It's not just the elite mulattoes blacks Haitians are just as guilty.
These people have been a burden on our country endlessly sucking the life out of our beloved Haiti.
We need to deal with this predicament if Haiti is to see better days, to that end i share your frustration my friend.
However i did not endorse Aristide's method.
His, was divisive and overly aggressive.
There's more to life than color, money and education.
We need to find a civil way to deal with this matter and alienation will not work. We need a national campaign encouraging love and devotion toward our country.
In the school system, we need to educate young Haitians to love our country and to love each other regardless of skin color and money.
I left Haiti when i was a kid I learned this lesson in Elementary school that stays with me to this day, it goes like this in English "My country is Haiti I must love my country, work towards its grandeur and its prosperity, and if necessary I must be willing to die for it".
One of the best way to change Haiti is through education, our leaders need to invest more in education.
When you take for example the US it's a country with many different nationalities and ethnicities yet they all work cohesively toward the development of the US. Haiti is not the only country that recieved Arab immigrants during the early 1900s.
The reason immigrants have exploited us is because we were already divided amongst ourselves.
And we Haitians have a history of self-division and self-exploitation.
It's a byproduct of slavery.
It's self-hatred.
We must acknowledge our own mistakes if we are to change.
Why do you think a lot of Haitians living abroad don't encourage their children to speak creole, french or identify themselves as Haitians.
As a kid i was taught to love my country this lesson has stayed with me throughout all these years.
Today i'm more committed to Haiti than before and i'm in the process of developping effective ways to help develop my country.
