Reduce government red tape improve productivity

< Previous | Home | Next >

every Haitian government has been plagues by corruption scandal of non-productivity in the government public sector.

First let me say your administration has shown lost improvement over previous administration.

Things are getting better however we need to do much more. I believe you are good man, good president considering your limited resources.

More importantly i firmly believe that you love this country as much as i do and have its best interest in mind so i hope you don't mind a few suggestions.

Please forgive the fact that this is being written in English, Although i do speak creole very well, i can not write it and my french is not so good. If i may be so bold rather let suggest a few possible solutions to some of the issues i have recently experienced in Haiti.

If not to minimize government corruption, maybe for transparency, and for the elimination "Ghost Workers" government scam and corruption may i suggest that an effort is made to pay all Government Employees with Checks.

Recently i overheard a conversation of a government official who claims that he makes five to ten times his salary with "Ghost workers".

For a country with limited resources we can not afford such practices.

Why not use technologies such as relational databases to cross check ids, driver's licenses, Vehicle license plates, and addresses to reduce fake ids, fake vehicle registration and fake insurance which cost the government lots in yearly revenues.

Many of these practices are often used to defraud the average population.

Why not use the internet in conjunction with these relational database to give citizens the ability to renew drivers License, vehicle license plates, registration online.

Furthermore why not take advantage of the internet to notify drivers when their license renewal, replacement is ready and can be picked up so that people don't spend days to trying to renew license and other government document that typically take minutes in other countries.

This can done by partnering with folk like PayPal to collect funds and ensure payment.

let move the country into this century.

Please understand my comments are not intended to discourage or to minimized what has happened in the past few years rather my coments are intended to encourage our leaders to look at other ways of doing things.

As we say in the states think out of the box.
