Linda,

I agree with much of what you said. If you follow my thesis on "Haiti is a bottomless pit" you will realize that I have been talking about Haitians' behavior as a result of lack of education and lack of pride.

But I disagree with you when you blame that lack of pride on Haitians ignorance of the value of their country through historical studies.

Haitian's pride cannot come from our History.

We are not the only nation to have fought slavery and please remember we paid France to leave us alone.

Haitian's pride should come from greed, the desire to be as prosperous as Dominican Republic could be a start.

Do you think the citizens of Domican Republic are seating and moping about slavery and the time we occupied their countries.

I do not think so, now that we are in their rear view mirror they are probably trying to pass Puerto Rico!

Haitian's pride should also come from the desire to be equal and even better than the others.

Haitians should be embarrass that they are waiting for other nations to fix their "blackout" problems as if they are smarter than us!

Take a country like America, American's pride do not come with the study of History.

Of course they tell you that their Nation was built from their superior genius and the bravery of the fore fathers while dismissing the deception, shame, theft and crimes floating around it.

I believe that their pride comes from greed and a "folie des grandeurs".

Right now they are facing a huge economic crisis, they owe 16 of their 32 teeth to China but still they are sending one billion to Georgia.

Because America has to be the land of the free, the land of the smartest, the richest, the bravest, and the most powerful.

That is their goal. That is what is driving them.

Nothing is driving us. We need to let go of the past as it is holding us behind and look into the future and set goals.

Calling ourselves descendants of slaves, the first black republic! is to remain chained.

We need to call ourselves man and women like all other men and women (Asians, whites, Hispanics) in charge or our destiny! Get to work because as equal men and women, we can accomplish and deserve all the things that those other men and women have regardless of their race.

I have been accused of being too blunt but I want Haitians to know that they are lying to themwhen they are telling them "Haiti cherie pi bel peyi pase ou nan point".

A well traveled person and one who can handle the truth will agree that in reality Haiti is a little stinky hole resembling Africa.

But before you crucify me you need to know that Haiti is the only country that can refill my heart and soul when I am running on empty.
