Action Needed Today on Haiti's Food Crisis
Petition to U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson Jr.!
Haiti is in the grip of the food crisis which is currently affecting much of the world, as soaring food prices cripple many poor countries.

Meanwhile Haiti is still shelling out millions of dollars in debt repayments while its people starve.

The finance ministers of the G8 rich countries including Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson meet on June 13-14 in Japan to discuss the food crisis - by cancelling debts they could help alleviate the suffering of Haiti and other affected countries.

Please sign the petition:

If they do not want to cancel Haiti's debt. All Haiti has to do is default on the loan. Haiti is paying 1 million dollars per week. That translates into 52 million dollars per year. The money should not be donated to people.

Haiti receives a lot of donation already.

You have to teach people how to fish. Furthermore, the money should be invested to get a high return.

The money should be used to revamp Haiti's agriculture so that the country can grow their own food. The money should also be used to select a location in Haiti to get tourism going so that a return on investment can be made. Tortuga island should be a good place to start.

It has beautiful beaches.

But as you all know by now, Haiti is under occupation.

The government has to ask for permission to get anything done. If Haiti cooperates and work with the international community, Haiti will soon progress.
