SANTIAGO (R.Dominicana).
-The Dominican authorities repatriated today 54 undocumented Haitians, the majority children and adolescents dedicated to asking for alms in the streets of Santiago (north), reported official sources.
A person in charge of Migration said to Efe that the majority of the brave minors and repatriates had come to the country recently.
He added that the repatriations did attending to merchants' denunciations and other sectors of Santiago that complain on supposed criminal acts committed by the adolescents.
On having been stopped, many of the children were crying alleging that they did not have to where to go in his country, since his parents had "evicted" them.
One of the undocumented persons, 14-year-old Robito Pié, declared to the press that for one month had come to the Dominican Republic after his mother was throwing him to the street in the city of Cap Haitian, the second city in importance of Haiti...
Some of these minors have been victims of abuses for authorities and settlers of Ouanaminthe, place to where they are taken after his repatriation, according to denunciations.
