The president of the Social Christian Reformist Party (PRSC), engineer Federico Antún Batlle, said today that Haiti is the main problem facing the Dominican Republic as a nation.

He also said that there will be "significant announcements" at the summit this afternoon of seven opposition parties fighting the use and abuse of state resources in favor of the reelection of President Leonel Fernandez.

Antún Batlle considered as a "punishment" for the election campaign and inmediatismo not understand the scale of the problem that the country is the lack of a migration policy with Haiti.

The president of the PRSC warned that the "invasion" of Haiti could increase in the coming days, the result of the shortage of food in neighbouring nation, which has resulted in looting and deaths in commercial establishments "by people desperate for hunger."

Summit

Antún Batlle said that at 4:00 this afternoon is the third summit of the seven opposition parties that are fighting for the Government to discontinue the use of public funds for the re-election of Fernandez.

"This afternoon we will take meaningful measures announced in the context of that meeting to deal firmly waste of state resources in favor of a ruler who swore to respect and enforce the laws and have become its principal violator," he said.
