The French and the British fought four more than a century, yey they get along today, putting the past behind them.
The Israelis fought the arab nations in the Six Days War and were victorious, yet Egypt and Jordan make peace with Israel.
The roman emperors has conquered, tortured ransaked their neighbors, and enslaved their citizens, yet today Itay/Rome get along with the rest of the world.
The European nations fought each other in countless occasions for centurties, Today, they put the past behind them and create the European Union...
So many more examples exist between former adversaries who become partners.
Had all of them adopt your attitude, there would be no peace today.
