Flo; I feel your pain, and yes, I also find Unknown's fanatic love for the Duvalier regime somewhat disturbing.
I know many people who lost kins to the Duvalier regime.
In my family alone the list is long.
However, credit must be given where it is due. As much of a (as you said) "MENTALLY UNSTABLE DIABETIC MURDERER" that Duvalier was, under his rule things were better than they are now. I understand that people outside did not know what was going on, but if you did know you might be able to better compare what happened than to what's going on now. Than it would brake your heart to know that what's left of Haiti now is simply nothing--no infrastructure, no structure, no value system, a very confused and pathetic population.
Believe me when I tell you that really things are so bad now in Haiti that this nation may never be able to recuperate.
By the way, be careful with thinking that people with degrees will do a better job--Duvalier pere had a medical degree.
