There's a lot of students who receives scholarships from the Haitian government to go study abroad in countries like the US, Canada, and France.
The Haitian government finances these students' education abroad with the understanding that these students will back to Haiti and contribute to Haitian society.
But most of them when they get their degrees they decide not to go back to Haiti to help the country that financed their education.
And that's just wrong.
A lot of these foreign countries offer international students legal resident status during the final year of their education so they won't go back to their country.
It's a double win for these countries, because an international student usually pays 5 times that of a regular student.
Studying abroad is a great thing because you learn things about other cultures that you could never learn at home.
But haitian society gets nothing out of it when students don't come back.
My advice for Haiti is, spend the money in Haiti building more schools and improving the ones we already have.
If the problem is that we don't have qualified professors to teach then i suggest we import foreign professors to come in and teach students what they know instead of paying for students won't come back.
Ingrates!!!!!!!!!!!!
